IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING "PINK SLIME"

JUST IN CASE YOU WERE WONDERING----

You don't have to wonder or worry, RITEWAY MEAT does NOT, nor have we ever used Pink Slime or any adultered meat in any of our processing.  We grind our own hamburger using 100% RED meat and we make our own sausages using 100% RED and/or WHITE meat (NO organ meats).  We wouldn't feed any of our family members or yours this stuff, we PROMISE....

Sincerely,
Jeff and Sharon Payne

RE: RECORD HIGH BEEF & PORK PRICES

Since 2010 the beef & pork industry has seen some significant price increases, as much as 14-28% and it’s expected to continue at a rate of 1-5% a month, this trend should continue through the summer. Meat prices are currently rising faster than overall food costs; they haven’t seen increases like this in 28 years. Attributing to these increases is the HIGH demand for beef and pork overseas; a result of the recent events in the Middle East, the tsunami in Japan and REDUCED production in the States, a result of high fuel and feed prices.

It seems like all we hear anymore is “how gloomy the future looks" and that we have no control over it. We hear all the terrible details of how, why and what will happen as a result, there is little to no emphasis on finding a possible solution, until now…….
We have a solution!!!!
Instead of only being able to afford the dream, you will actually be able to eat your favorite steak (without going bankrupt). Purchasing beef and pork directly from the farmer use to be the only way to buy meat until the creation of grocery stores and we all know how that story turned out, purchasing meat from the farmer is once again the popular choice. The advantages when purchasing direct are more important now than ever before, the cost savings alone is tremendous and priceless is the support it gives our local farms.

 Frequently Asked Questions
  • Where are you located and how do I get to your store?
We are located 2 miles west of Newberg on Hwy 99W. From downtown Portland; Take I5 south for 8 miles, exit at "Tigard/HWY 99W/Beautiful Oregon Coast" stay on Hwy 99w approx 8-10 miles until you reach Dundee and we are on the corner of 9th street and Hwy 99W.Back to top

  • Do you use sugar and/or preservatives in your Jerky?
We use a small amount of brown sugar in all of our Jerky with exception to the Teriyaki Jerky, which is made with honey. Government regulations require the use of nitrites for all smoked meat products, they do this for your safety. Unlike the store brands which use large amounts, well over required levels for extended shelf life, our products are always sold fresh so only minimal amounts are used.Back to top

  • How do I properly handle your smoked products and do they need to be refrigerated?
Yes, all of our smoked meats need to be refrigerated. Your product is shipped in a vacuum sealed bag, if the seal should break take it out and place on a plate or in a paper bag. Use plastic bags or air tight containers for freezing products only.Back to top

  • How many pieces are in a pound?
It varies because each piece is different, they range from small to large. The bigger the piece the more it weighs. Back to top
